Wild Animals in Nepal

The animals which spend their entire life in the jungle are called wild animals. Such as tigers, foxes, leopards, lions, giraffes, monkeys, elephants etc. Their categories spread into various groups and species. Some of them are herbivorous, carnivorous and omnivorous. They are also categorized into terrestrial, amphibian, arboreal, aerial and aquatic. Most of them are advantageous but some are not.

Some animals live on land are called as terrestrial animals. Such as tigers, elephants, lions etc. The other kinds of animals are arboreal; such as monkey, squirrels, chameleon etc; as they spend most of their time on trees. Birds are categorized as aerial animals as they can fly in the air. Water living animals are called aquatic animals. Fishes, crabs, dolphins, shark etc are example of aquatic animals. Similarly amphibians refer to the animals such as tortoises, alligators, frogs and so on. Altogether animals are classified as terrestrial, arboreal, aerial, aquatic and amphibian according to the place where they inhabit naturally.

On the basis eating, also animal can be classified. The animals which eat grass and plants are called herbivorous animals. Such as cows, buffaloes, goats, sheep etc. The animals that feed on flesh of other animals and birds are called carnivorous. Such as lions, leopards, tigers etc. Omnivorous are those animals which feed both flesh and plants.

Nowadays wild animals are declining in jungle. Some are in endangered. Animals cannot survive if its habitat due to destruction. The living place of the wild animals is fast destroying because of different activities of human beings. People are destroying the forest for agriculture and settlement. For firewood, timber and building materials they are cutting trees. Furthermost, people are killing the wild animals for various purposes such as for meat, for their skin decoration and so on. The main cause of their disappearance is destruction the forest and killing them.
